Decorating the Tree: 2-day Machine Embroidery Workshop

Bring Lori Holt’s Decorating the Tree quilt to life with machine embroidery! From Lori Holt’s Home Town Holiday collection, this festive quilt has been reimagined as a machine embroidery project exclusively from Riley Blake Designs (RBD).

Featuring Lori’s signature cover stitches and specialty fills designed to mimic her fabric prints, this embroidery version lets you create the quilt in a fraction of the time. The finished quilt measures 62 1/2" x 67 1/2" and is perfect for holiday decorating or cozy snuggling.

About the Class

Join Cindy for a fun machine embroidery weekend and learn the in-the-hoop embroidery technique while working on select elements of the Decorating the Tree quilt.

Cindy will guide you through the embroidery process while sharing helpful tips and tricks for machine embroidery. During the weekend, you’ll complete three ornament samples and the 3D bows. We’ll focus on creating some of the embroidery blocks and will not be assembling the finished quilt.

Embroidery Machine Requirements

The project includes machine embroidery appliqué and piecing files for 6" x 10", 8" x 12", and 9" x 14" stitchable areas.

• Embroidery machine required

• Your machine & hoop must accommodate at least one of the included stitchable areas

• Basic knowledge of machine embroidery is required

• Students should be comfortable uploading designs to their embroidery machine

Students may leave their embroidery machines at the shop overnight between class sessions.

Prep Work

Please pre-cut the required pieces for the specified blocks before class. More detailed preparation instructions will be provided closer to the event.
