Materials needed (purchase at the shop with your class 10% discount):
- Sewing machine in good working order
- The Maxwell bag pattern
- Fabric: Select your fabric needs using the pattern, whether single or pieced version
- 1-1/4 yard of foam stabilizer
- 1/4 yard Pellon 71f or 72f
- 1-2/3 yards of cording (22/32")
- 4 purse feet
Additional supplies + tools: Polyester thread, water-soluble pen/tailor’s chalk, cutting mat, gridded ruler, rotary cutter, size 14 or 16 denim or Microtex needle.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to set up your workstation.

| Skill Details: | **Confident Beginner In addition to the beginner knowledge required: - Seam Allowance: Knowing what a seam allowance is (usually ¼” for quilting) and how to maintain it while sewing. - Using a Rotary Cutter: If using a rotary cutter, being familiar with how to safely and accurately use it along with a cutting mat and quilting rulers. - Measuring and Cutting: Knowing how to measure fabric with a ruler and how to cut accurately to prevent wasting fabric. - Assembly: Understand basic sewing construction including: piecing, matching seams, adding borders, and finishing techniques |
