Let’s Make A T-Shirt Serger Class with Kathy McMakin

Whether you’re an experienced serger or just getting started, you’ll learn how to construct a knit t-shirt in minutes—with multiple hemming options that look polished and beautiful. It really is fast, easy, and impressive… once you know the tricks!

Join us for a hands-on workshop using a soft-as-butter knit fabric paired with perfectly dyed-to-match ribbing. The techniques you learn will not only apply to children’s garments, but also to stylish tops for teens and adults.


You’ll learn how to:

• Master the magic of differential feed
• Attach a circular neck binding smoothly and easily
• Starting and stopping when sewing a circle
• Finish hems with either a lettuce-edge for a more frilly, girly look or a coverstitch for a beautiful, tailored finish
• Machine embroidery on knit will be discussed for those who want to add for a personal touch

Watch your project come together step by step, and by the end of class, you’ll be inspired to make this versatile knit tee in every color imaginable! In class, you will create a child’s size M (7/8).
