Around We Go BOM - Technique of the Month

Learn to use 5 different Creative Grids rulers as you make this quilt over 6 months.

This beautiful quilt is designed from the middle out – and each month you will learn how to use a different tool to make a round of this quilt. With Creative Grids® tools, you can piece faster, easier, and with more accuracy. You can use the 5 fabrics called for in the pattern or make it scrappy like the sample in the shop.

Supplies: Bring the following to class or purchase at Quilter’s Corner with your 10% class discount.

•          Sewing Machine in good working order with either 80/12 Microtex or 75/11 Quilting needles
•          50 wt thread
•          Scissors
•          Seam Ripper
•          Rotary Cutter
•          Large cutting mat
•          Pattern- Around We Go by Deb Heatherly
•          Creative Grids Tools

              o   Log Cabin Trim Tool for 8” Finished Blocks (* Required for month 1)

              o   Quilt Ruler 8.5” x 24.5” or 6.5” x 24.5” (* Required for month 1)

              o   Strippy Stars Tool 5” x 7.5” (* Required for months 2 & 3)

              o   Square on Square Trim Tool – 3” or 6” Finished (* Required for month 4)

              o   Cat's Cradle Tool (* Required for month 5)

              o   6” Log Cabin Trim Tool OR 6” Curvy Log Cabin Trim Tool(* Required for month 6)

•          Fabrics- (Bring enough to start Month 1 – we’ll discuss options in class)

                          4.5 yds background (light neutral)

                          Color #1- light 1.25 yds

                          Color #2- medium light 2 yds

                          Color #3- medium 2 yds

                          Color #4- dark 2 yds

•          or the equivalent in yardage for a scrappy option

Preparation for Class: Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for set-up.
