Curves 101 with Erin Grogan of Love Sew Modern
During this 3 hour Curves 101 workshop Erin will teach three different methods for sewing the Drunkard’s Path block, to find the best method for each student. By the end of this workshop students will have completed (1) ornament quilt block and leave with the confidence
to sew curves. The Merry & Joy quilt pattern includes instructions for a table runner and a throw. We do not cover piecing the Ohio Star block during class, but detailed instructions are included in the pattern.
Fabric MUST be precut before class to maximize our time together. If you need assistance in cutting these circular pieces, there will be a session on that Thursday, October 10, from 1-2 or Saturday, October 5, 1-2. Please sign up online for a session.

- Square ruler that is AT LEAST 4 1/2” square
- Quilter’s Ruler (6“ x 24”)
- Pins
- Fabric Scissors
- Paper Scissors
- Seam Ripper
- Starch or Flatter product (optional)
- Iron and ironing board/mat
- Rotary cutter and cutting mat
- Machine with 1/4” foot

| Instructor Bio: | Erin Grogan, the pattern designer and founder of Love Sew Modern, was introduced to sewing by her grandmother, a professional seamstress. In 2017 Erin took her first trip to a modern quilt shop. Surrounded by all the bright and bold fabrics and modern quilts she knew in that moment she wanted to become a quilter. In January of 2020 Erin left her corporate job to focus on growing her dream, Love Sew Modern. Now four years later Erin has over 14 published patterns, published her first book (Retro Curved Pieced Quilts), and is an international quilting educator who embraces spreading the love of quilting. |
