Raw Edge Applique

Angie will share lots of tips and techniques in this class: what kinds of fusible to use, how to transfer the pattern pieces to your fabrics using both traditional methods and the Brother Scan n Cut, how to prepare multi-piece elements prior to final fusing, and different ways to finish the raw edges.

  • “Chooks” pattern by Creative Abundance, or "Monstera" or "Butterflies" by Laundry Basket Quilts
  •  Fabrics per the pattern.
  •  Fusible Web – Heat n Bond Lite
  • Sewing Machine capable of doing a zig-zag stitch. Applique foot is suggested. 
  • Sewing Machine Needles: 80/12 Super Nonstick
  •  50 wt. cotton thread
  • Pins
  • Seam Ripper
  • Rotary Cutter, ruler, and mat


If using a Scan N Cut:

  •  Scan N Cut machine with both scanning mat and cutting mat
  •  Paper Scissors

If using the Traditional Technique:

  • Fine tip Sharpie pen
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Lightbox if you have one      

 

 

Preparation for Class:  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time
