Visiting instructor Joan Radell is back! 

Show your style with customized sneakers! Between the fabric uppers, lining, and binding, rivet colors, and lace options, you will have a unique pair of shoes at the end of this class. You can opt for ankle-high hitops, classic sneakers (like Keds) or ultra-low sneakers for a casual look. The supply list is the same for all styles. Your kit includes sneaker soles, padded insoles and the sneaker pattern and guide. All incidental materials will be supplied; you just need to come prepared with your fabrics, foam interlining and interfacing.

 Last day to register and give us your shoe size/color is October 31.

You must pre-quilt your fabrics prior to class, to ensure you can finish making at least one sneaker during the workshop.


Please make sure that you indicate what size shoe you need, and if you prefer black or white soles when you register! If registering online, please call the shop at 804-794-1990 to provide this information. These must be ordered in advance. The soles are sized in European sizing (like Dansko or Birkenstock). Wide widths aren’t available, but the soles are a bit wider than typical American shoes, with a wide, round toe box. Check the universal commerce label on the inside of a pair of sneakers that fit you will for the EU size.
