Beginning Paper Piecing
This is the perfect project to learn how to paper piece! Start with one heart and turn it into a card, make four for a cute potholder, or add more for a wall-hanging. You’ll learn the steps and process of paper piecing, and gain the confidence to tackle bigger projects.

Supplies: Bring the following to class or purchase at Quilter’s Corner with your class discount of 10%
- Book: Show Me How to Paper Piece by Carol Doak (available at QC)
- Sewing machine in good working order.
- 50 wt cotton thread
- Scissors
- Rotary cutter
- Add-a-quarter ruler
- Cutting mat
- Seam ripper
- Fabric: per pattern instructions (1/4 yard background, 1/4 yard total assorted fabrics for hearts - scraps at least 1-1/4" wide work well)
Optional:
- Finger presser
- Small iron
- Ironing surface
- Fabric glue stick
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for set-up.

Requirements: | You must know how to use your sewing machine, including threading, winding a bobbin, and adjusting stitch length. An open-toe foot is ideal, but any foot where you can see exactly where you are stitching will work. |
