Rope Bowls 201: Oval Bowls & Edge Embellishments

Rope Bowls make a great gift and are useful around the house. You’ve learned the basics, now try something new. Cindy will teach how to make oval bowls, and how to add a twisted edge embellishment. Rope Bowls 101 is a prerequisite for this class.

Supplies: Bring the following to class or purchase at Quilter’s Corner with your 10% class discount:

•          Zigzag Rope Sewing Projects book by Katherine Lile
•          Sewing machine capable of doing a zig-zag stitch with open toe or zig-zag foot
•          Denim needle
•          50 wt cotton thread, either Gold, black, and green OR a variegated (like King Tut) with those colors.
•          Several bobbins pre-wound with 50 wt thread
•          100% Cotton clothesline, 3/16” width – available at Quilter’s Corner
•          Fabric will be provided.
•          Roxanne’s fabric glue
•          Wonder clips
•          Stiletto
•          Pins, scissors, seam ripper

Prep work required before class:

•          Be sure you know how to change the zig-zag stitch length and width on your machine.
