Cat's Cradle Tool - Lavender Fields

Cut only squares and rectangles, and use the Creative Grids Cat's Cradle XL tool to create these blocks that finish with triangles. Sewing this pattern is quick and fun. You'll also learn how to sew a mitered border to the quilt top. Kit for the quilt shown, with the border print, is available!

Supplies: Bring the following to class or purchase at Quilter’s Corner with your class discount of 10%
• Pattern: “Lavender Fields” by Christine Quilts
• Sewing Machine with 1/4” foot
• Sewing Machine Needles: Microtex 80/12 or Quilting 75/11
• 50 wt cotton thread
• Creative Grids® Cat’s Cradle Tool CGRDH1
•  6” square or larger ruler
•  24” ruler if you want to cut more fat quarters or background fabric in class.
• Rotary Cutter
• Cutting mat
• Fabric marker – Frixion pen, Clover Water Soluble marker, Chalk-o-liner, etc.
• Pins
• Seam Ripper
• Fabric per the pattern OR purchase the “Autumn Fields” kit from QC! Note the pattern is included with the kit.

Preparation for Class:

Cut at least one fat quarter following the instructions in the pattern.

Cut at least one 4-1/4” strip and one 5-1/2” strip from your background fabric.
