Edge-to-Edge Quilting on your Embroidery Machine



Learn how to make your embroidery machine do more for you by creating beautiful Edge to Edge (E2E) quilting on your quilt.  You will learn how to create, mark, and measure a design template for accurate quilting results.  You will take necessary measurements and calculate design placement, as well as how to connect the E2E designs with precision that will result in a beautiful “Long-Arm Look” finish to your quilting project. 

Supplies: Bring the following to class or purchase at Quilter’s Corner with your 10% class discount:


  •          Book – “Edge-to-Edge Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine” By Amelia Scott Designs. NOT THE EXPANSION PACK
  •          Embroidery machine in good working order and your manual.
  •          Embroidery Arm and power cord
  •          6X10 hoop or larger with grid sheet.  (The larger the hoop, the better – fewer hoopings per project.) Either a traditional hoop or a           magnetic hoop will work.
  •          Thread: 40 wt. or 50 wt. thread that contrasts with your quilt top fabric. Use a strong thread…Polyester or King Tut.
  •          3-4 Filled bobbins with MATCHING thread
  •          Topstitch or Embroidery needles 80/12
  •          Scissors, Tweezers, straight pins, seam ripper
  •          24” ruler
  •          Water or air soluble marking pen (Frixion pen not recommended)
  •          Quilt Sandwich: 30”x40” top. Make batting and backing 4” bigger all around. Use a low loft batting. Quilter’s Dream Request or               Select batting recommended.
  •          Two pieces of lightweight Cutaway Stabilizer larger than the hoop you will be using.
  •          Pencil/pen, paper, and calculator for notes

Preparation for Class:

  •          Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for set-up.
  •          PRIOR TO CLASS - Please lightly spray baste and/or pin baste your sandwich.
  •          PRIOR TO CLASS - Load your machine or USB with all three sizes of both the Daisy A design and Daisy B design in the format               your machine uses.
  •          Knowledge of how to position designs on your machine as well as general embroidery know-how.
