Binding Basics
You've pieced and quilted it; now it's time to bind it. Learn the basics of perfect binding as you complete this final step. Skills taught include how to cut fabric for your binding, how to attach the binding to your quilt, mitering corners, and joining the two ends. Both hand-sewing and machine-sewing the binding to the back of the quilt will be discussed.

Supplies: Bring the following to class or purchase at Quilter’s Corner with your class discount of 10%
· Sewing machine in good working order
· ¼” presser foot
· Walking foot
· Thread – 50 wt. 100% cotton (Aurifil works great)
· (1) bobbin filled with the above thread
· Pins
· Pencil
· Rotary cutter
· Cutting mat
· 8” x 24” ruler
· Fabric scissors
· Hand sewing needle
Optional:
· Cut Rite Bind It tool
Preparation for Class:
**Your kit will be waiting for you when you come to class.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to set-up.

Requirements: | You must know how to use your sewing machine, including threading, winding a bobbin, and adjusting stitch length. Both a 1/4" foot (or the ability to set your seam allowance to 1/4") and a walking foot are needed. |
