Quilting Basics 101 include:

BEGINNER QUILTING

Are you a new Quilter?  These classes will teach you important basic skills to accurately sew/piece a quilt top.  Learn how to plan out your quilt project, confidently master rotary cutting, piecing, pressing and quilt assembly.  We also offer classes in machine & hand quilting as well as a Binding class to help you successfully complete your quilts.

HAND QUILTING

There are some quilts that are just meant to be hand-quilted. In this class you will learn the basics of hand quilting. You will learn about basting and hooping-also about putting your quilt in a frame. We will cover what to use to mark your quilt, thread, & stencils. You will hand-quilt in class and see results at the end.

INTRODUCTION TO MACHINE QUILTING

Explore the basics of machine quilting in this one-day class.  You’ll stitch a “sampler” using the walking foot as well as the free-motion foot.  Layering, pinning, batting choices, threads, and marking tools will also be covered.  With a little practice you’ll be ready to complete those unfinished quilt tops!

BINDING BASICS

You’ve pieced it; you’ve quilted it; now it’s time to bind it.  Learn the basics of perfect binding as you complete the final step.

QUILT MARKING CLASS

Have you ever wondered what to use for marking your quilt? We will help you through a number of products, their uses and advantages for specific projects. This will be a discussion class about different types of quilt marking supplies on the market and suggestions for quilting your quilt.

If there is time we will take a look at any personal pieces you have that you might be "stuck" on.
