Resources

I love discovering new things! Like that you can generate warmth to your extremities just by thinking of something hot or very warm. Or that a Star-Nosed Mole can devour it's food in a fraction of a mili-second. Now, I know you're asking yourself, "What does this have to do with quilting"? Well I'm finding that discoveries can include people and can happen anywhere. For those of you that attended to Modern Quilt Guild meeting last week, I'm sure you discovered an incredible resource in Julia Pfaff. Not only is she brilliant and incredibly skilled at what she does, but she's led such an interesting life. I'm finding that I know instantly when I've come across a resource that I NEED to bring to the shop and share with you. Cheryl Mathre, a textile artist who dyes her own fabrics, was a resource that I felt needed to be shared. She'll be teaching her second Fabric Dyeing class at Quilter's Corner in February. I'm working with another woman on the process of making a "memory quilt"... discovered when she came into the shop to share a piece she had created using some of the fabrics we sell. And most recently, a new quilter to Richmond, Deb StCyr, who is an incredibly talented paper-piecer from New Hampshire. I can't wait to introduce you to Deb and have you see some of her fantastic quilts! I'm so happy to have the job I do! I really love sharing resources with you. I hope you enjoy them as well!
